I am a UX designer and multidisciplinary artist located in Lisbon, Portugal. I graduated in the summer of 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston-Downtown. My major focus was on design processes and methodology, and my minor was art with a focus on studio art. Academia aside, I am a designer that emphasizes empathy and kindness. I approach challenges in my own life with an attitude of empowerment: How can I change this situation for the better? What about this situation isn’t working for me? What do I need? I use this same approach when designing with and for others. For more than 16 years, I have honed and successfully employed my innate sense of empathy and my acquired problem-solving skills to create satisfying and memorable end-user experiences. I understand the importance of centering the user and how this approach improves the final product because of the many years I have spent focusing on managing end-user relationships and engagement on behalf of internal and external stakeholders. Outside of UX, I am a multimedia artist and photographer. I am the kind of person who will bring my camera with me on a quick trip to the coffee shop or to a restaurant with friends just in case I see something beautiful on the way. Creating and being in the presence of art is a big part of who I am. For me, art can evoke joy, peace, inspiration, or provoke introspection.
